Immaterial of if you own a dog or love a dog, the MKA welcomes you to join us as a member!! Join us to learn, educate your canine companion and have fun!

The Malaysian Kennel Association, popularly known as MKA, was inaugurated in 1925 and registered with the Registrar of Companies. Apart from the principal and historical objectives of being the exclusive registrar of pure bred dogs in the country, promote the breeding and exhibiting of pure bred dogs and formulation of dog show rules, MKA is evolving to be a 'total' dog club for all dogs lovers. The Club is affiliated to The Kennel Club, London, and is a member of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and the Asian Kennel Union (AKU). We also have reciprocal arrangements with other major global kennel clubs.

The MKA endeavors to promote all things canine. The MKA employs a full time staff that is 15 strong, based at our HQ in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. We run activities such as dog shows, Obedience trial, Obedience Training and also Seminars on responsible dog ownership and so on throughout Malaysia for it’s members.

Purchasing or owning a pedigree dog does not automatically make an owner a member of the MKA. These are some of the privileges that MKA members enjoy :

• Participate in the activities which membership entitles you to, like conformation dog shows, obedience trials & training and much more.
• Receive a free bi-monthly magazine called the BERITA ANJING, which informs owners about how to care for their canine friends. It also keeps members informed about the latest news from the MKA.
• The MKA acts as an advocate, regarding Local Government dog management matters. It responds to Government and regulatory dog issues.
