MKA Show System

Classification Of Age Groupings For International And Mka Championship Dog Shows (Amended December 2021)

Classes Offered Definition Of Classes
MINOR PUPPY For dogs of three and not exceeding six calendar months of age on the day of the show (not eligible for CC and other classes)
PUPPY For dogs over six (plus one day) and not exceeding ten calendar months of age on the day of the show. (Eligible for MKA Junior CC)
JUNIOR For dogs over ten (plus one day) and not exceeding fifteen calendar months of age on the day of the show. (Eligible for MKA Junior CC)
INTERMEDIATE For dogs over fifteen (plus one day) and not exceeding twenty four calendar months of age on the day of the show. (Eligible for MKA CC)
OPEN For dogs over Twenty four calendar months (plus one day) on the day of the show. (Eligible for MKA CC)
MAL. BRED Open to all dogs over six calendar months (plus one day) whelped in Malaysia, inclusive of dogs imported in-dam. (Not eligible for MKA CC – Amended December 2021)
VETERAN For dogs of any age specified in the schedule but not less than six years on the day of the show. (Not eligible for MKA CC – Amended December 2021)
CHAMPION For Dogs/Bitches over 15 months old with an Adult Champion title (not Junior Champion) from an FCI Member country only. Proof of Champion titles must be provided at the time of entry.

All Adult Malaysian Champions (not Junior Champions) MUST automatically enter the Champion Class, but may also additionally compete in the Malaysian Bred or Veteran Classes, to compete for those respective In Group and In Show Awards.

Overseas Champions (from FCI member countries) who want to compete for the title of Malaysian Champion, MUST enter the Intermediate or Open Class, unless special exemption rules are in place for visiting foreign dogs at FCI International Shows held in Malaysia.

The Champion dog and bitch classes will be judged separately.

Any other classes as deemed appropriate by the Association and advertised in the show entry form.

MALAYSIAN CHAMPION & MALAYSIAN JUNIOR CHAMPION (Amended May 2023)

  1. Adult Champion - The Association hereby grants that any Dog/Bitch winning a total of 4 Challenge Certificates (CAC) by Judges or panels of Judges at Championship shows held by the Association or by Affiliate clubs of the Association, shall be entitled to the title of Malaysian Champion (MYS. CH). There is no time frame for the accumulation of the 4 CACs. (Amended December 2021)
  2. Junior Champion - The Association hereby grants that any Dog/Bitch winning a total of 3 Junior Challenge Certificates (CAC) from the Puppy or Junior classes, by Judges or panels of Judges at Championship shows held by the Association or by Affiliate clubs of the Association, shall be entitled to the title of Malaysian Junior Champion (MYS. JR. CH).

All applications for the title of Malaysian Champion & Malaysian Junior Champion must be made on a separate form with details of all relevant criteria, for approval and official recording by the MKA inclusive of admin fee.

Malaysian Grand Champion Title (MYS. GR. CH.) (Amended May 2023)

The title of Malaysian Grand Champion (MYS. Gr. Ch.) can be attained by dogs and bitches who meet the following criteria.

Malaysian Hall Of Fame Title (MYS. HOF.) (Amended May 2023)

The title of Malaysian Hall of Fame (Mys. HOF.) can be attained by dogs over the age of 12 months who meet the following criteria.
